Competitive EventsCompetitive events include online tests, report events, skills events, project events, performance events, battle of the chapters, chapter of the year, and recognition events. Below are listed events for each of the categories with practice tests and more in-depth instructions for each event. Awards are presented at the region and Middle Level State Leadership Conferences.

Reports must promote an awareness of some part of the American (free) enterprise system with the school and/or community and answer the Report Format questions. The project is intended to help members learn more about the free enterprise system and is designed for chapter participation.
The online objective test may include 50 spelling words commonly used in a business environment. At the State Leadership Conference, the top 20 individuals on the SLC online objective test will participate in an actual Spelling Bee.
Computer ConceptsThe online objective test may include questions on basic computer principles, terminology, computer application concepts, programming concepts and procedures, and computer equipment.
Employability SkillsParticipants will apply for an entry-level position in which the participant is qualified (re: baby sitter, yard maintenance worker, courtesy clerk) by submitting a letter of application, resume, and a job application form.
Introduction to Business CommunicationThe written objective test may include questions on proofreading, grammar, punctuation, word division, expression of numbers, capitalization, and business spelling.
Local Chapter Activities ReportThe report should summarize the activities of the local chapter between the start of the previous State Leadership Conference and the current State Leadership Conference. This report meets one of the requirements for the Chapter Award of Merit program.
Public SpeakingThe content of the three-minute (3) speech must be of a business nature and must be developed from one or more of the nine (9) FBLA-PBL goals.
The topic to be developed for this Web page and submitted for competition for the 2017 ML State Leadership Conference is: Create a webpage that will inform your Middle Level FBLA organization about our chapters activities. Include meeting dates, activities, pictures, and competitive events information. Website must include an external link and photos.

The online objective test may include questions on any FBLA state or national publication or current national and state news issues. Questions will be formulated from information contained in the National and State handbooks, National FBLA Bylaws, National and Georgia FBLA websites.
Career ExplorationThe written objective test may include questions on skills, career plans, career goals, job searches, job applications, cover letters resumes, interviews, Occupational Outlook Handbook, and basic career education.
Participants will develop a multimedia presentation, preferable Microsoft PowerPoint. The topic for this slide show and submitted for competition for the 2018 ML State Leadership Conferences is "Create a slideshow presentation on ethics in the workplace." The presentation should include elements such as graphics, pictures, music and special effects sound, text, and transitions.
The written objective test may consist of general information about the organization of FBLA-PBL, its goals, creed, bylaws, and other facts found in the FBLA-PBL Chapter Management Handbook and the national FBLA website. Questions may also be asked about general information about Georgia FBLA
Invention ConventionParticipants will create an invention using a set list of supplies and develop promotional materials and a sales pitch to accompany the invention.
Marketing ConceptsThe online objective test may include questions on basic marketing principles: price, product, place, promotion, economics, selling and merchandising, advertising, media, and e-commerce.
Questions on different online communications such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn but not limited to.

The written objective test may include questions on items related to business such as basic math concepts, decimals, fractions, percentages, and discounts.
The scrapbook should include labeled pictures/ photos, souvenirs, programs, activity favors, ticket stubs, and other tangible evidence for the chapter's accomplishments.
CreedMembers in FBLA should be knowledgeable should be knowledgeable about the association and the Creed to which the association subscribes. This event provides recognition for FBLA members who are interested in learning about the mission and the values of the association as well as interpreting what the Creed means to them.
Impromptu SpeakingParticipants will be given a topic related to one or more of the following: FBLA-PBL Goals, FBLA-PBL activities, FBLA-PBL current national programs, current events, and/r relevant business topics.
Participants should be able to produce a personal letter, a one-page report, and a one- or two- column table/centering problem. Results will be based on accuracy of printed copy and Standards of Mailability.
Parliamentary Procedure ConceptsThe written objective test may include questions on parliamentary procedure principles, concepts, and terminology.
Participants should be prepared to complete problems in a spreadsheet format, which may include various functions, including formatting, sorting, editing, creating and applying formulas, and charts. Results will be based on accuracy and formula-view printout.

Business ConceptsThe written objective test may include questions on items related to characteristics and organizations of business, consumerism, money management and banking, career awareness, and rights and responsibilities of managers, employees, owners, and government.
Community Service ProjectReports must describe a chapter project that serves the community and answer the Report Format questions. The activity must be in the interest of the local community, focus on one primary project, and be designed for chapter participation.
Participants should be prepared to create, design, and produce usable copy on a computer using desktop publishing software. Students should be prepared to create documents such as a flyer, brochure, and invitation which include graphics, text, layout creativity, and appropriate fonts and type sizes.
Internet ConceptsThe written objective test may consist of general information about the Internet, world wide web, browsers, e-mail, computer security, ethics, and privacy.
Participants should be able to produce a business letter, a one-page report with a title page, reference page, and citations; and a two- or three-column table. Results will be based on accuracy of printed copy or Standards of Mailability.
Video Public Service AnnouncementThe content of the 60 second video must be of a business nature submitted for competition for the 2017 ML State Leadership Conference and must be developed from the following theme: Develop a 60-second public service announcement to get students at your school to join and get involved in FBLA.
The written objective test may include questions on financial principles related to personal decision making, earning a living (income/taxes), managing budgets and finance, saving and investing, buying goods and services, banking, credit, and insurance, and consumer math.
